Haute-Chaudière Wind Project

The Haute-Chaudière Wind Project, located in a mountainous region near the Canada-U.S. border, is contributing to Quebec’s energy transition by increasing its wind power capacity. Connected to Hydro-Québec Lac-Mégantic substation, the project will generate positive economic spin-offs for the local community based on investments done throughout the development, construction and operational phases.

PEG identified the area for the development of a wind power project and completed a detailed constraints analysis for its client. Several mandates followed, including the coordination of meetings with private landowners and authorization requests for meteorological masts installation. The project was selected in Hydro-Québec’s 2021 call for tenders.

PEG identified the area for the development of a wind power project and completed a pre-feasibility analysis for the Coopérative d’électricité de Saint-Jean-Baptiste in 2021. Several mandates were subsequently carried out, including environmental surveys and authorization requests for meteorological masts installation. The project was selected in Hydro-Québec’s 2023 call for tenders.
